Gait Analysis
We believe our running evaluation system is unique – the two screen video recorder allows us, and you, to quickly and clearly watch and evaluate your running gait to ensure we help you choose the best shoes for you.
Runnerway’s evaluation system combines a running machine (treadmill) with two screens and video recorders. The two screen system is unique and by showing your running gait from two different views it clearly demonstrates whether you are an over-pronator, a supinator or a neutral runner and how this is affecting your limb and joint movements when you run. If you’re new to running and don’t understand these terms don’t worry we will explain and show you during evaluation. We stock a wide range of shoes that can help address existing and potential biomechanical problems and you will be able to view your gait running in different brands and design of shoe.
Quote “I started running for fitness about a year ago and, although my stamina was improving, I was finding running progressively harder as my knees were becoming very painful. I’d spent quite a lot on shoes but had bought them from a general Sports Shop and hadn’t had any advice on what to buy. I heard about Runnerway from a friend who’d tried the evaluation system so decided to give it a go. Clare was really thorough, asked me loads of questions about my running – how often, how far, terrain etc. then put me on the treadmill and recorded my run. I was amazed at how obvious my over-pronation was (when they explained what it meant!); it was obvious why I was suffering. Clare talked to me about the shoes and how they were balanced differently; I tried about five pairs and viewed the result on the video. All the ones she chose for me demonstrated a marked improvement but one pair was distinctly the best. It wasn’t even the most expensive pair either. My knee pain hasn’t gone completely just yet – I suspect I’ve caused some damage – but it’s already much better and I’m starting to really enjoy my running”.
